malteser tiffin

I love tiffin! I also love Maltesers so I tried them together and it was amazing, you should try it!

INGREDIENTS

FOR THE BASE

  • 200g milk chocolate
  • 100g unsalted butter
  • 2 tbs golden syrup
  • 125g digestive biscuits
  • 135g bag of Maltesers
  •  a handful of raisins (optional)

FOR THE TOPPING

  • 200g milk chocolate
  • 25g unsalted butter
  • 1 tbs golden syrup

METHOD

  1. Line a square baking tray.
  2. Put the 200g of chocolate, butter and syrup in a bowl and melt.
  3. Once almost melted, gently stir until all chocolate has completely melted. let cool a little.
  4. Place the biscuits and 35g of the Maltesers into a freezer bag, seal the bag and crush with a rolling pin. Make sure it is mostly crumbs but has a few chunks.
  5. Add the crushed mixture, the raisins and the remaining whole Maltesers in the bag to the melted chocolate. Stir until coated and place in to your baking tray.
  6. For the topping- melt the chocolate, butter and syrup and spread over the base.
  7. Cover the tin, refrigerate for 1-2 hours before cutting.
